Shveta Miller
Shveta taught for 15 years and is now a teacher of teachers. She has worked in public high schools in underserved communities, elite private academies, and colleges in the US and abroad. She has taught all aspects of English from etymology to test prep. Though she tears up at every thank-you letter she receives from her former students, she finds it especially rewarding to impact student learning on a grand scale through her coaching partnerships with teachers. In 2021, she wrote the book Hacking Graphic Novels: 8 Ways to Teach Higher-Level Thinking with Comics and Visual Storytelling. She lives in Portland, OR, where she can be found in a library, at the river, or dining al fresco at a food truck with her family.
