Amanda taught for 13 years and is now coaching teachers around the world as they rebuild their ELA curriculum. She has worked in two vastly different public high schools serving a wide variety of courses and an even wider variety of students. From ESL to World Literature to AP Language, Amanda geeks out at any opportunity to reinvent her curriculum and try something new. She is exploring the world of teaching now by coaching teachers and seeing the inner workings of schools across globe and is especially thrilled when she's able to travel to those schools and work side-by-side with teachers on discussion strategies, redesigning a curriculum map, or even whole department vertical alignment. In 2020, Amanda started a podcast with her partner Marie Morris called Brave New Teaching, and publishes a new episode every Thursday. When she's not working from a local coffee shop in northern Illinois, you can find her somewhere off the grid in her roof-top tent or building a campfire with her family near one of the Great Lakes.
